DESCRIPTION:Participate in a one-hour yoga class with Dancing Lotus Yoga + Art on select Saturdays on the front lawn\, or indoors\, at Mint Museum Randolph (weather permitting). Classes are free for Mint members and $10 for nonmembers. During the winter months\, this class will be hosted inside Mint Museum Randolph. SUMMARY:Members Moment | Art of Devotion: The Santos de Palo Tradition of Puerto Rico
DESCRIPTION:Members are invited to join our guest curator\, Dorie Reents-Budet\, PhD\, and Nitza Mediavilla Piñero and Francisco Toste Santana for a presentation of Art of Devotion: The Santos de Palo Tradition of Puerto Rico. The exhibition is drawn entirely from the extensive Santos collection of Nitza Mediavilla Piñero and Francisco Toste Santana\, who recently relocated to Charlotte from San Juan\, Puerto Rico. Indigenous to Puerto Rico\, this 300-year-old sculptural art form embodies the religious\, multi-ethnic\, and multicultural composition of the Puerto Rican people.
